What to visit outside Tokyo?

Located in the east, Japan is an island country in the Pacific Ocean. This country is well-known for its national parks, imperial palaces, shrines and temples. Japan’s cities are densely populated with a total population close to 130 million. Tokyo is the capital city of this nation and is a top tourist destination with many skyscrapers and bullet trains. There are many other places to see in Japan, as well.

Yokohama

Located south of Tokyo and on the western coast of Tokyo Bay, this is a great destination for travellers who love cities by the sea. While here you can shop, visit museums and have a scenic view atop the landmark towers. Being a port city, you can also have a harbour view from atop the Ferris wheel or a water bus. In Yokohama, you can enjoy Chinese cuisine and beef.

Kyoto

Do you love tradition, arts, history and culture? If yes, Kyoto is the place to travel to. With over 2000 temples and shrines, this great city welcomes you aboard. While here, you can enjoy some favorite meals such as shojin ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine), kaiseki ryori (multi-course Japanese haute cuisine) and much more. The Geisha district and Kyoto national museum are other places you shouldn’t miss while visiting this place.

Osaka is one of the largest cities in Japan. It is urbanised and it is a great destination for fun-lovers. This great city offers entertainment for kids and adults too. The food is also something to look forward to and includes yakiniku, takoyaki and okonomiyaki, among others. Osaka is home to Universal Studios in Japan and hosts one of the largest public aquariums in the world.
